The late David Collins was diagnosed with leukaemia in 1979 and soon saw a need to raise extra funds for leukaemia research and patient support in Tasmania. His friends and family committed their time and effort to the cause and the Foundation was established in 1980.
Thanks to these dedicated volunteers the Foundation has provided hundreds of patients and their families with support, funded leukaemia research and grants for professional development of medical and allied staff in Tasmania.

The Professional Development Award has given me the opportunity to attend a vital seminar and receive a greater understanding of treatment and care for leukaemia patients in Tasmania.
