We are pleased to announce that extensive renovations were completed on David Collins House in 2014...

Money raised by the David Collins Leukaemia Foundation of  Tasmania has been used to renovate and maintain David Collins House, a unit in Lutana, purchased in 1985. David Collins House provides comfortable accommodation for leukaemia patients and their carers while patients attend treatment in Hobart. We are pleased to announce that major renovations were carried out in 2014.

In 1985, the Foundation realised the need for accommodation close to hospital for out-of-town patients. A modern home unit was purchased off Risdon Road and was furnished to suit families, with generous assistance from Lions clubs, Rotary clubs, businesses and the public.

In a quiet corner of New Town, a view of the river, ducks at the bottom of the garden, the unit has been a place of quiet refuge for over 300 families in the past 24 years. David Collins House is fully self-contained with two bedrooms, 1 double bed and 2 single beds.
