About Us
Our Origins
The late David Collins was diagnosed with leukaemia in 1979.
During his treatment he became aware of the need for a vibrant fundraising group to raise money for leukaemia research and patient support. He did something about it. Friends and family rallied around.
The David Collins Leukaemia Foundation of Tasmania Inc. (also known as the Leukaemia Foundation of Tasmania) was constituted in March 1980 as a voluntary organisation with no paid officials. Today it has only one part-time offical and relies on volunteers for fund-raising and patient support.
All funds raised remain in Tasmania.
